Background: Revolutionising Hospitality with Cutting-Edge Comfort

Located in the prestigious Knightsbridge area, the Rembrandt Hotel stands out with its historical allure and architectural ingenuity. Constructed in 1911, this landmark pioneered the integration of steel and concrete in its design. Originally envisioned as opulent apartments for Harrods, the hotel now thrives under the Sarova Hotel Group, preserving its Edwardian sophistication. Recently, the hotel undertook a critical update to its air conditioning system, an endeavour flawlessly suited to the innovative DecoQT fan coil units, ensuring minimal interruption to its esteemed guests.

Requirements: Precision Comfort in a Historic Setting

The mission was to rejuvenate the hotel’s rooms by leveraging the existing HVAC infrastructure to provide precise temperature control in each room, aiming for a noise level of NR26. Each fan coil unit was designed to deliver chilled water (CHW) cooling and low-pressure hot water (LPHW) heating, ensuring guest comfort with negligible noise and swift response times.

The Solution: DecoQT Fan Coil Units - A Blend of Elegance and Efficiency

The collaboration between Biddle and the hotel’s design team was pivotal. The DecoQT fan coil units were selected for their exceptional ability to meet stringent performance and noise level standards while minimising operational disruptions. 
Chosen for its robust capabilities, the DecoQT 70 features a five-row dual purpose coil that adeptly handles the required thermal loads. Optional condensate pumps in the condensate tray further enhance functionality. Rigorous site assessments and noise evaluations confirmed exceedingly low noise levels, achieving as quiet as NR23 (28.9dBA) at the bedside, during the evening.
